Welcome to Barnwood and Barrels, a place where every piece of wood tells a story. I’m Gene, from Marion, Ohio, and I’ve spent more than 30 years dedicated to the craft of woodworking. This isn’t just what I do; it’s a legacy I’ve built with my hands.
My passion took shape here in Marion, a community that taught me the value of hard work and pride in what you create. Over the years, that passion has grown into a lifelong commitment to making pieces that last and carry meaning.
I’m blessed with a wonderful wife, two daughters, a son‑in‑law, and two grandkids who inspire and support me every step of the way. They’ve watched my workshop fill with creations that are more than furniture—they’re reflections of who I am.
From cutting boards to dining tables, each piece I craft is shaped with patience, precision, and respect for the unique character of every type of wood. My goal is to create heirlooms that bring warmth, function, and a sense of story into the homes they enter.
